World Sick Day is celebrated every year on February 11 in many countries around the world, founded by Pope John Paul II. 1992 to draw attention to patients and their problems.
The purpose of celebrating this Day is to raise awareness among the general public about the needs of patients and to strive for better health and social care that will provide accessible and quality health care to each patient.
Students of Ante Kuzmanić Medical School visited patients in the Home for the Elderly and Infirm in Zadar, the Home for Adults of Sv. Frane and Zadar General Hospital. The aim of the visit was to approach the needs of sick people and their family members as one of the vulnerable groups, who need care, attention, compassion and assistance in their daily lives.
