World Alzheimer's Day is traditionally celebrated at our school with the aim of raising awareness and drawing attention to people affected by Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. On this occasion, the students of our school carried out activities on the topic "Let's get to know Alzheimer's disease" in exercises and classes. Thus, in the exercises of the subject Health Care of the Elderly, fifth-grade students conducted a survey "Assessment of Dementia according to Folstein", which allows them to recognize the signs and symptoms of dementia. Teacher Sonja Šare participated in the opening of the exhibition "Fragments that remain" and the lecture of Dr. M.Sc. Vitomir Višić on the topic "Alzheimer's dementia today: truths and misconceptions related to it" ("FRAGMENTS THAT REMAIN" An exhibition opened in the Duke's Palace to raise awareness about dementia (antenazadar.hr). Students of the 4th grade participated in the lecture "Let's get to know Alzheimer's Dementia" which was held by class teacher Sonja Šare. It is a special honor and pleasure for our 4th grade students to become members of the "Friends of Dementia" society in the month of Alzheimer's Dementia was to host students from the Ameos Clinic and introduce them to the benefits of a sensory room for people suffering from Alzheimer's disease. It is also the most common neurodegenerative disease. With the increasing aging of the population and longer life expectancy, neurodegenerative diseases, including various types of dementia, are becoming an increasingly significant public health problem at the global level. Patients suffering from Alzheimer's disease due to comorbidities often stay at teaching bases where students perform exercises, and it is of particular importance that they get to know the specifics of the disease and the types of help for patients.
