"For the purposes of this book, I conducted 82 conversations and interviews with nurses and medical technicians who participated in the Homeland War. At the same time, it did not matter whether they were in the military, medical or simply engaged in their health care institutions under a work obligation, it did not matter whether they were on the front line of defense or went to work every day, under shells, receiving the wounded, assisting with operations, bandaged and cared for the wounded. The basis of this book's thesis is that the war was won by ordinary people, such as nurses and technicians, women workers, workers with doctors and of course volunteers, Croatian soldiers." The words are from the introduction to the book "Heart for Wounded Croatia" by Ivica Radoš. Students of the 4th grade, accompanied by the principal Anita Basioli, teachers Lijljana Grginović, Anita Raljević-Špralja and class teacher Sonja Šare, participated in the book presentation ceremony promoted by prof. emeritus Ph.D. Boris Dželalija and associate professor Ph.D.Sc. Zlatko Begonja. Moderator of the book presentation ceremony Assoc. Ph.D.  Marija Ljubičić guided those present through the chapters of the book, emphasizing the importance of the contribution of nurses in the Homeland War. The nurses who are also the authors of the chapters in the book are specially presented: Borka Potočnjak, Majda Čurković, Radmila Glavan and Katarina Škara. We are proud that the teachers of our school were also participants in the Homeland War, either as participants in the field, in the hospital, or during the difficult war times, in previously unknown and difficult conditions, they studied nursing.
