World Sick Day

Due to epidemiological recommendations, this year's World Patients' Day in our school took place in slightly different circumstances. On that occasion, students of 3rd and 3rd grade in the class of Professional Communication in Nursing read messages from seriously ill patients.

Don't avoid me! Be the one who loves ... the friend you've always been.
Touch me. A simple handshake can tell me that you care about me and I won’t feel so lonely.

The initiative to mark this day dates back to 1991, when Pope John Paul II learned that he was suffering from Parkinson's disease, which is characterized by a chronic course and numerous functional disorders. World Sick Day is celebrated on February 11th. It is also the day on which the Mother of God of Lourdes is celebrated in the Catholic Church. It is the Marian shrine in Lourdes that is known for its miraculous healings and is a gathering place for many patients who pray there for their health as well as the health of their loved ones.
The aim of World Sick Day is to raise awareness of the need for adequate care for patients, respect for their rights and the empathy they need in illness. After getting acquainted with the historical features of the Day of the Sick, the students wrote messages of support to the sick on a poster and thus pointed out the importance of humanity and emotional support in caring for the sick.
