Why are the wounds difficult to heal? What factors lead to this difficult wound healing? What are the best modern methods of treating chronic wounds? What is the role of a nurse / general care technician in the treatment of chronic wounds?
The answers to these but many other questions were found out by the students of the 4th a and 4th b grade of the Ante Kuzmanić Medical School during the online guest lecture: "Treatment of chronic wounds - a modern approach" by Oliver Jurić, MD, specialist in general surgery.
During the lecture, students were introduced to the latest achievements in the treatment of chronic wounds, especially the benefits of applying supportive dressings, and the treatment of chronic wounds using negative pressure and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The role of the nurse / medical technician as an important member of the chronic wound healing team was particularly emphasized.
The lecture was full of many useful examples from practice and advice that will be very useful to students in further education, but also after the beginning of active work in the profession.
