On Saturday and Sunday, October 5-6, 2019 the County of Zadar organized a prize trip for students and their mentors of the social and linguistic area, who won one of the first three places at the County Competitions. From our school, these were students who showed their knowledge of Latin and the Red Cross. Awarded students: Angela Knez, Angela Koton, Ana Vukancic, Dorotea Sabani and Lana Cukrov went on this adventure, accompanied by their mentor and prof. Helene Bekić. In the early morning we headed to Metkovic. First, we headed to the town of Vid to breathe the spirit of antiquity in the Roman settlement of Narona and to get to know part of Roman history at the Archaeological Museum, and to meet the hidden inhabitants of the Neretva valley in the Natural History Museum. We then headed to one of the many canals of the Neretva Delta, near Opuzen, where we boarded boats and drove to Lake Kuti to experience a real safari. Nature and the landscape left us breathless. At the end of the day, the route takes us back to Makarska, where we could rest and recharge our batteries for another day of adventure. Visiting beautiful Makarska was our first task, after which we visited the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Vepric. And for the end of our adventure we have the city of Sinj and of course a visit to the Museum of Sinj Alka, and the church of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj. Full of impressions, happy and satisfied in the late afternoon, we headed to Zadar. It was truly an adventure to remember.
