On the occasion of World Glaucoma Week, which is celebrated in our city from 07 to 11 March was held a series of events in order to warn the public on glaucoma, a disease of the optic nerve as a result of unregulated intraocular pressure, which can ultimately lead to the deterioration of the optic nerve and blindness.
Events in the framework of the World Day of glaucoma is jointly organized by the League Against Cancer Zadar, Department of Ophthalmology, General Hospital Zadar, Department of Public Health Zadar, Association of Blind and Visually Impaired Zadar County Darts Association of the Zadar County, the National Museum of Zadar, Višnjik Sports Center, Department of Health Care Studies in Zadar and Medical High school Ante Kuzmanić in Zadar
A fifth grade students of our school with the teacher Jelena Kevrić participated in the Monday, March 7 in action free measurement of intraocular pressure and educate stakeholders of the importance of early detection and treatment of glaucoma in the premises of the Department of Pediatrics, General Hospital Zadar.
On Tuesday, March 8 students 5. B grade with teacher Susan Pezelj participated in the measurement of intraocular pressure and blood pressure and blood sugar levels at the People's Square, as well as educating the public about the importance of prevention and treatment of glaucoma, as well as high blood pressure and blood sugar.
The move for the duration of his life, despite the bad weather, had a large number of visitors, which tells in favor of the popularity of these public health action as well as the fact that our fellow citizens are extremely aware of the importance to the preservation of health and the early detection and timely treatment of disease.
